The mountains, forests, beaches, lakes and all types of tropical vegetation are great attractions of this tour. Day 3 - RIO DE JANEIRO - Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the beauties and culture of Rio de Janeiro. As a suggestion for a walk, we recommend the Africa and Carnival tour which, in the spirit of the Carioca, celebrates traditional "Roda De Samba", (samba wheel), ice cold beer and being reunited friends. The Pedra do Sal (Rock of Salt), on the hill of Conceição, is part of the region historically known as "Little Africa", which stretched from the outskirts of Praça Mauá (Plaza Mauá) to Cidade Nova. Slaves would have parties at their homes and would play "forrós" (typical musical genre of the northeast of Brazil), the "choro" (popular and instrumental Brazilian music) by flute, "cavaquinho" (Portuguese instrument of four strings) and the guitar. In the backyards, there was space for all of the elements of rural samba-- tambourines, "prato-e-faca" (type of percussion instrument used in the samba), and dances--zapateados, "peneiradas" and "umbigadas". It was there that urban Rio samba was born, that popular sambistas and old carnival ranches arose. The Pedra do Sal is also of historical and religious importance. It is where Brazil's slaves landed from Africa and, as it was close to the sea, was a salt drainage site. The salt was used to manufacture leather and preserve meat in the past. This area plays an important part of Afro-Brazilian culture and religion throughout the year.

Today, the Pedra do Sal is the scene of lively samba wheels of the Roda de Pedra group. Cozy houses populate the area next to a staircase and the historic stone hillside. The party attracts tourists and young people from various neighborhoods of the city. On the National Samba Day, December 2nd, members of the Pedra do Sal's "candomblé" (religious cult of African origin) celebrate the washing of the stone. There are samba wheels, capoeira, thematic culinary displays, and an exhibition of films and lectures. Return, rest and overnight stay.

(The tour operates Monday and Friday with departure at 2 p.m. and the duration is 6 hours. The value of this tour are in our service rate, ask your operator).

Day 4 - RIO DE JANEIRO - Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the beauties and culture of Rio de Janeiro. As a suggestion for a walk, we recommend the famous district of Santa Teresa. Santa Teresa is a neighborhood in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which is characterized by the large number of artists who live there. The neighborhood has as a distinctive icon, The Bondinho (the last electric train that circulates in all of Brazil) that crosses the Arcos de Lapa, an old Carioca aqueduct that today serves as a train route that goes up the hill to enter Santa Teresa. Santa Teresa, known as the Carmartian Montmartre, is distinguished by its colonial profile, almost without modernity having influenced its aesthetic, with a large number of historical buildings, some of them built in the eighteenth century. It borders the districts of Glória, Catete, Botafogo, Laranjeiras, Cosme Velho, Silvestre, Humaitá, Centro, Catumbi and Rio Comprido, and corresponds to the Administrative Region of the Tijuca sub-prefecture and adjacencies. Its social life and tourist attractions are concentrated in the Largo dos Guimarães. This region is populated with numerous restaurants ranging from the Bar do Mineiro (a cheap feijoada well served) and Espirito Santa (Amazonian food in one of the most expensive restaurants in the area that operates out of an old recycled house), to Supernatural (specialized in seafood) and Thiago (whose specialty is black beer chop).
